Salem, Indiana (August 9, 2021): The 2021 regular season for both the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance have concluded. The ARCA/CRA Super Series 2021 regular season ended with the Redbud 400 at Anderson Speedway on July 12th where Kyle Crump came away with the victory. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour regular season ended on July 31st at Birch Run Speedway where Cody Coughlin came away with his third series win of the season.
CRA will continued the Chase for the Championship format for determining a series champion for the 2021 season. The playoff format has produced more teams competing for a championship in every CRA division since CRA started using that format in 2017. The final four scheduled races for each series will be utilized as the Chase for the Championship. Prior to the start of the final four races, the top 8 teams in wins (then points) that have attended 70% of the points events are eligible for the Chase. Prior to the season’s last event, the regular season points champion and the top 3 Chase Teams in Wins (then points) during the Chase and were at all the scheduled Chase events, will race for the season’s championship, with the highest finishing team in that event declared the season’s champion.
Hunter Jack was the Regular Season Champion for the ARCA/CRA Super Series 25th Anniversary Season presented by Team Construction, it was his first time getting that honor and in so doing is guaranteed to be one of the four drivers racing for the 2021 Series Championship in the 50th Lucas Oil Winchester 400 Presented by JEGS on October 17th as long as he competes in the series three Chase for the Championship events leading up to the Season Championship event. Jack beat out Scotty Tomasik by a mere four points to claim the regular season title. The other drivers locked into the Chase include Tomasik, Michael Simko, Crump, Dalton Armstrong and 2016 series Champion Coughlin. Any of those drivers can get locked into the four drivers competing for the Championship at Winchester by winning one of the three Chase events if they compete in all three Chase events leading up to the Championship event. Tomasik, Crump and Armstrong are eligible for the first time ever to compete for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Chase for the Championship. Coughlin’s series championship was the last settled by a regular points system in 2016, so there will be a new Chase for the Championship Champion crowned with the series in 2021.
Coughlin was the Regular Season Champion for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, getting a series leading three wins along the way and is locked in to competing for his fourth series Championship in the series Season Championship event on Friday, October 15th of Winchester 400 Weekend as long as he competes in the series three Chase for the Championship events leading up to the Season Championship event. The other drivers locked into the Chase include Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year point leader Tanner Jack, Chase Burda, Dylan Bates, and rookies Brian Demland and Andrew Scheid. Any of those drivers can get locked into the four drivers competing for the Championship at Winchester by winning one of the three Chase events if they compete in all three Chase events leading up to the Championship event. Coughlin is the defending series Champion from 2020 and also claimed series Championships in 2013 and in 2016. Burda is the only other driver besides Coughlin to have competed in a Chase for the Championship with the series of the six drivers in the 2021 series Chase, that was in 2020 were he finished in fifth place in the Chase.
