Bergakker Grabs First Midwest Modifieds Tour Win in Almost Two Decades at Berlin




A former two-time Track Champion at his home track of Berlin Raceway (MI), Brian Bergakker grabbed the lead from pole-sitter, Brian Nester on Lap six and sailed to his first Midwest Modifieds Tour powered by Wheeler Trucking Win since October 18th, 2008, a span of nearly 16 years, in the Gray's Cleaning Services 50.


The 44-year-old from Middleville, MI in his No.12 Four J's Trucking / Senneker Performance ride opened up a nearly four-second lead on the field. Then, on a restart at eight laps to go, Bergakker again opened up his lead and cruised to a nearly three-second advantage at the Checkered Flag.


Nester finished second over Economy Auto Parts Fast Qualifier, Trevor Berry who completed the podium finishers. Current Points Leader and Defending Tour Champion, Matt Dimit and Greg Fullarton were the final top five.


Jordan Dahlke was sixth while Buddy Gray finished ahead of Inline Tube Rookie of the Race, Luke Warhurst. Tyler Hufford, in his #MMTpbWT debut, was ninth as another freshman, J.J. Schafer wrapped up the Top 10.


17-year-old Hanna Jaroniewski, in her #MMTpbWT debut, picked up the Getaway Layaway Vacations "Need A Vacation" Hard-Luck Award.

The #OpenWheelWarriors will take a few weeks off before heading to Salem Speedway (IN) for the first time since the 2009 season, on Saturday, June 8th for Round two of the 2024 King of the High-Banks Triple Crown Series presented by Mays Tire & Service Center and the running of the United Mechanical 40.
