Birch Run Speedway Triple Crown Championship Event up Next for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour


Special from Champion Racing Association: Salem, IN (September 7, 2022) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will head back to Birch Run Speedway this Saturday for the third of three events at the 4/10’s mile oval located just outside of Birch Run, Michigan. Saturday’s event will be the Championship event of the Triple Crown Series for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour at Birch Run Speedway in 2022. Brighton, Michigan native Kyle Crump won the first Triple Crown Event at Birch Run Speedway on Sunday, May 15th after weather postponed the event one day. Carson Hocevar won the second Triple Crown event on Saturday, July 2nd.


The top three overall finishers in the Triple Crown Series points at Birch Run Speedway will receive: Champion $2500, 2nd Place: $1250 3rd Place: $1000, at the Birch Run Speedway Champions Banquet in the Fall of 2022. Crump is the current Triple Crown points leader with 208 points. Katie Hettinger is in second with 197 points. Chase Burda is in third place with 191 points. Crump, Hettinger and Burda are all entered for Saturday’s Triple Crown Championship event.


Saturday’s event will be the ninth points event of the season for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. Casey Roderick won the series’ season opener on April 24th at Salem Speedway. Dylan Fetcho won the second event at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on May 7th. Kyle Crump won the series’ third event at Birch Run Speedway. Ethan Stadniczuk won the fourth event of the season at Flat Rock Speedway on June 16th. Carson Hocevar won the series fifth event at Birch Run Speedway. Willie Allen won the July 9th Masters of the Pros event at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. Nicholas Naugle got his first JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour win in the series’ event on August 6th at Anderson Speedway. Leading series rookie Nick Egan picked up his first series’ win in the series last event on September 3rd at Winchester Speedway. The series has had eight different winners in its eight events to date.


Leading series rookie Nick Egan comes into Saturday’s event as the current series Championship points leader and was the series Regular Season Champion and is locked into the final Chase for the Championship group to race for the series Championship at Winchester Speedway on October 14th. Dakota Stroup is the only other driver eligible for the Chase for the Championship. Those two drivers will compete for the series Championship, as long as they compete in each of the series Chase events leading up to the Championship event at Winchester Speedway on October 14th. Both Egan and Stroup are entered for Saturday’s event.


NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitor Carson Hocevar, the series’ 2017 Rookie of the Year and a five-time feature winner with the series after his win on July 2nd is entered to try and be the first series’ competitor to pick up two series’ wins in 2022.


Other top entries include Stadniczuk, Birch Run’s own Dan Leeck the 2014 and 2019 series’ Champion and former Birch Run Speedway event winner, Winchester Speedway 2021 event winner Jon Beach, Winchester Speedway 2018 event winner Wes Griffith Jr., Kevin Cremonesi, David Liaff, Brett Robinson, Michael Simko, Tyler MacKenzie, and Max Fair.


There will be an open practice time available for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour teams on Friday, September 9th, pits open at 12noon with JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, open practice from 2 to 4pm.


On Saturday, September 10th, pits will open at 11:30am. JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour practice is set to begin at 2pm. Nova Motorsports qualifying for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will begin at 4:30pm. Racing action will begin at 6:30pm with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour 100 lap Triple Crown feature. Also racing that evening will be the Reveal The Hammer Outlaw Late Models in a 100 lap feature, Midwest Modifieds in a 50 lap feature and Birch Run Pure Stocks in a 25 lap feature.
