Burda Family Cleans up at CRA Awards Ceremony; Driver and Car Owner Recognized

Plymouth, IN - Friday night Champion Racing Association (CRA) hosted their annual season Awards Ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of their Champions and supporters throughout the year. As part of the celebration, specialty awards were handed out alongside the standard Championship Points battle awards. Chase Burda and his father, Rob were no exception to the hardware going around.

Chase earned the highest honors of the evening after winning the 2023 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Powered by JEGS Championship. His season consisted of multiple wins including sweeping the season at Winchester Speedway and his biggest career win, the $10K Masters of the Pros 184 at Owosso Speedway.

The younger Burda also received the runner-up honors in the ASA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS finishing behind Gio Ruggiero, who captured the title and Rookie of the Year Honors. Along with the second place plaque, Burda received the Sportsman of the Year Award, as voted on by the CRA Staff.

The emotional award of the night came with the first Darrell Teal Memorial Klotz Lubricant Dedication Awards, for teams and individuals who have displayed outstanding dedication to our sport and series. Hailed as a family-owned team who put their entire heart and soul into their race team, attending nearly every CRA Late Model race in 2023, Rob Burda was honored with the award.

Burda appeared noticeably emotional as he accepted the award and therefore declined the opportunity to speak to the audience in attendance.

The Burda's will now prepare for the 2024 season of Template Late Model and Dirt Late Model racing across the country.
