Burda Looks to Win Second CRA Championship in 2021

Special from Champion Racing Association - Salem, Indiana (March 8, 2021): 16-year-old Columbiaville, Michigan native Chase Burda will be racing in his third season with CRA in 2021 and his second full-time season with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance. Burda had a great rookie season with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour in 2020, rebounding from a slow start to the season and a totaled race car at Bristol to claim the series 2020 Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year Award and a fifth-place finish in the 2020 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Chase for the Championship. He finished a series best of fifth in four series events including the series’ first ever event at Jennerstown Speedway and in the season Championship event at Winchester Speedway.

Burda had a very impressive season with the Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Models in 2019, the inaugural season for the series. Burda claimed six feature wins in the series eight events, including a stretch of four wins in a row in the series second event through the series fifth event on his way to claiming the series’ first ever Championship. Burda had five heat race wins out of the seven events that featured heat races and was the series’ Fast Qualifier at seven of the eight events.

In 2021, Burda and his team look to step up their performance and go for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Championship and will make select ARCA/CRA Super Series starts in the second half of the 2021 season to keep his rookie status in that series for the 2022 season.

“2020 was a good season for us, I learned a lot and feel like I really improved as a racer,” remarked Burda. “I feel like myself and the team are now ready to compete for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Championship. It would be great to get to victory lane but will be looking to have good finishes throughout the season and be in the final four in the Chase at the Season Championship event at Winchester to be in position to race for the series Championship! ”

Burda will once again have veteran JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour competitor Josh Nelms helping him in 2021 along with trusted team member Bill Rud.

Burda added, “ We couldn’t do this and be competitive without Josh and Bill’s help. Josh has so much experience and really helps me with the car and behind the wheel. I also must thank VanDoorn Racing Development for building us great cars and for their help during the season. I also have to thank my parents, they’ve been behind me since I started racing, I couldn’t be out there every week without their support and sacrifice. I also have some great sponsors supporting me like Magnecor, Rob's Service, Finishline Auto Sales and Energy Release. I can’t wait for the season to start!”

JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will begin its 11th season of competition with a special non-points event at the Georgia Spring Nationals at Crisp Motorsports Park on March 27th. The series 2021 points season will begin on the High Bank of Salem Speedway on Sunday, April 25th.
