Champions and More Honored at 2022 Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet


Special from Champion Racing Association - The 2022 Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS Awards Banquet, was held this past Friday, January 6th at the beautiful Swan Lake Resort and Conference Center, located in Plymouth, Indiana. The Champions and top eight competitors in 2022 ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS points, JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance points, Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS points and Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS points were all honored at the banquet along with several special awards.

Eddie Van Meter was officially crowned the 2022 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion, his first series Championship and second CRA Championship. Billy Van Meter was officially crowned the 2022 Cometic Gaskets Rookie of the Year and finished second in the Chase. Also honored was Albert Francis in third place, Kyle Crump fourth place, Casey Roderick in fifth place, Logan Bearden in sixth place, Sammy Smith in seventh place and Stephen Nasse in eighth place.

Bearden was the 2022 Sunoco Race Fuels Sportsman of the Year Award winner for the ARCA/CRA Super Series. Gary St. Amant was awarded the 2022 Outerwears Crew Chief of the Year Award. The Van Meter Race Team with owners Eddie and Donna Van Meter were awarded the 2022 Klotz Lubricants Dedication Award for the ARCA/CRA Super Series.

Dakota Stroup was officially crowned the 2022 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Champion, it was his first CRA Championship. Nick Egan officially crowned the VDL Rookie of the Year Award winner and finished second in the Chase. Also honored was third place in final points Kevin Cremonesi, fourth place Jimmy Tucker, fifth place Ethan Stadniczuk, sixth place Evan Varney, seventh place Chase Burda and eighth place Dylan Bates.

Egan was the 2022 Sunoco Race Fuel Sportsman of the Year Award winner for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. Kevin Cremonesi Racing was awarded the 2022 Klotz Lubricants Dedication Award for the series.

Keegan Sobilo was honored as the 2022 Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Champion and Rookie of the Year. Also honored was Chase for the Championship runner-up Caleb Reschar, third place Kyle Worley, fourth place Logan Huckeba, fifth place Cassten Everidge, sixth place Kent Carson, seventh place JP Crabtree and eight place Greg Stillwel Jr.

Huckeba was honored as the CRA Late Model Sportsman Chew’s Garage and Performance Sportsman of the Year Award winner. Worley Racing was awarded the 2022 Klotz Lubricants Dedication Award for the series.

Jason Atkinson was honored as the 2022 Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stock Champion, his record fourth series Championship. Blaine Akin and was honored as the series 2022 Rookie of the Year Award and second in the Chase. Also honored was third place Dalton Conner, fourth place Andrew Teepe, fifth place Dawson Phillips, sixth place Kimmie Greig, seventh place Ryan Amonett and eighth place JP Crabtree.

Greig was awarded the 2022 Chew’s Garage and Performance Sportsman of the Year Award for the CRA Street Stocks. Dalton Conner Racing was awarded the 2022 Klotz Lubricants Dedication Award for the series.

In all over $93,000 in cash and product awards were distributed to the 32 CRA teams represented at the 2022 CRA Awards Banquet. Special thanks to Tom Ryan, Awards Banquet host Adam Mackey and CRA Director of Operations Greg Wood for all their hard work in putting together the 2022 CRA Awards Banquet!
