Corrigan Oil Speedway Releases Full 2024 Schedule of Events

Mason, MI - After what was essentially a year's hiatus from circle track racing at Corrigan Oil Speedway (formerly Spartan Speedway) in 2023, the Speedway will return in 2024 with an old friend behind the front desk, and even more old friends on the race track.

Jim Leasure, a longtime owner and promoter of Corrigan Oil Speedway returns to the helm in 2024 after selling the Speedway to Tom and Tracey Hernly ahead of the 2021 season. After two aggressive and exciting seasons, the Hernly's reduced the schedule in 2023 to Special Events, Night of Destruction Shows, and a few circle track events. The future of the Speedway was uncertain for quite some time until a sign of life in June when the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club announced Leasure had asked to be put on the 2024 Fan Club schedule.

Fast forward to January, and the full slate of events for 2024 has been released, and short-track racing fans in Mid-Michigan have reason to rejoice. The season officially begins on Friday, May 3rd with Modifieds, Late Model Sportsman, Pony Stock, Outlaw Front Wheel Drives, and Mini Wedges. On May 11th, Nitro Monster Trucks take over the race track before Friday night racing returns on May 17th alongside Figure 8s. The month of May ends with a combo show between the Vore's Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman and the local Corrigan Oil Speedway Late Model Sportsman on Sunday, May 26th.

June kicks off with the debut of a new Sprint Car Series in Michigan, the Tri-State Sprints on Friday, June 7th. They'll be joined by Modifieds, Pony Stocks, and Outlaw FWDs. On Sunday, June 9th, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance makes their long-awaited debut featuring a $5,000 payday! On June 21st, Must See Racing Sprint Cars unload for the first time in 2024 with Late Models, Ponys, Outlaw FWDs, and Mini Wedges. June 28th, Night of Destruction fans get a treat plus School Bus Figure 8s.

July 5th kicks off the heart of summer with a Fireworks Show, National Compact Touring Series, MCR Dwarf Cars, and the Ohio Wheelman Super Stocks. The first "regular" Friday Night of the season is Friday, July 12th. July 21st the Modifieds will go 75 Laps and All American Trucks make a special appearance. The month closes out with a regular Friday Night race on July 26th.

August is the final chapter in the 2024 book with an All American Truck apperance on Friday, August 9th. On August 16th, it's Championship Night for the Mods, Late Models, Ponys, Outlaw FWDs, and Mini Wedges. The always anticipated Harvest is scheduled for August 25th and will feature Figure 8 Championships. The final event of the season is scheduled for Friday, September 6th with the final Night of Destruction and School Bus Figure 8s.

An exciting 2024 schedule is planned for the 1/4-mile bullring just outside of Michigan's capitol of Lansing.
