Great Lakes Super Sprints Pack-Up and Head for Tennessee in USCS Co-Sanction Showdown

The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by Engine Pro and ARP are heading south nearly 10 hours from Michigan to try and get the first race of the 2024 schedule complete without Mother Nature's help. Niota, Tennessee's I-75 Speedway welcomes drivers from the Great Lakes Super Sprints as well as the United Sprint car Series for the 5th Annual North VS South Sprint Car Shootout Speed Spectacular.

As of Wednesday, over a dozen GLSS regulars from the Michigan CAT and Ohio CAT Divisions have voiced intention to head for I-75. A pair of two-time GLSS Champions will make the trip including Cloverdale, Ohio native Jared Horstman who topped the standings in 2017 and 2020. Plus, defending champion Max Stambaugh will roll out of Elida, OH with eyes on the potential to become the first-ever three-time champion and first-ever three-time consecutive champion of the Series. 2018 GLSS Champion, Dustin Daggett will unload his No.85 at I-75 Speedway looking for better results than last year, where he flipped on the second night. The Ohio Gassman, Phil Gressman will bring his 2019 Championship winning team to I-75 as well.

Last year, night number one of the North VS South Showdown was captured by Mooresville, NC driver, Gavan Boschele. He drove his No.21 from the outside of row three to the win over Zane DeVault, Chase Dunham, Brad Lamberson who came from 19th, and Daggett. Saturday night saw eventual champion, Max Stambaugh take the honors over Boschele, however, the rest of the top five was dominated by USCS drivers. Terry Gray took third ahead of Morgan Havener and Phil Gressman.

Friday night, drivers will race under the GLSS rules and procedures with a pill draw for group, hot lap within your group, qualify in your group, then heat races, transfer spots, and the feature event. Saturday, the USCS format of passing points will be in play with a redraw for the dash and then the feature.
