Owosso, MI - On Wednesday, June 18th Owosso Speedway will host one of the richest paying events in the country for Outlaw Super Late Models, the 3rd Annual Bob Finley Memorial. The race, which pays $20,067 to win and $1,067 to start, pays tribute to Hall of Fame car owner and crew chief, Bob Finley. Now, the late-race leader of the event just got a massive pay boost thanks to Howe Racing Enterprises

On Thursday, May 29th, the motorsports world lost another icon when Mike Eddy passed away after a short battle with cancer. A class of 1995 inductee into the Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame, Eddy had many accolades to his racing career, including over 50 ASA-sanctioned wins and seven ASA Championships from 1974 to 1992. Eddy was a staple driver with what is now Howe Racing Enterprises; there he drove to arguably the biggest win of Eddy and Ed Howe’s career when they won the Marty Robbins World 500 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. The pair beat other drivers like Bob Senneker, Bob Sensiba, Morgan Shepherd, Dick Trickle, and Rusty Wallace.

As a way to honor Eddy’s life and support the 3rd Annual Bob Finley Memorial at Owosso Speedway, Howe Racing Enterprises has come on board as a lap sponsor for the 100-lap Outlaw race, offering up $888 to the leader of lap 88 in the race. The 88, the most frequently used number for Mike Eddy in his career, helps honor and symbolize Eddy’s success and involvement in motorsports. The boost comes alongside the previously announced $5,000 in lap money raised.

The 3rd Annual Bob Finley Memorial is Wednesday, June 18th at Owosso Speedway featuring the $20,067 to win Outlaw Super Late Models and $2,567 to win Modifieds. Advanced tickets are available at OwossoSpeedway.com or at the gate on race day. Fans who can’t make the trip can catch the action on TrackTv.com.
