The longest-running and one of the biggest Outlaw Super Late Model races in the country reconvene for a 32nd time on Saturday, July 13 for Kalamazoo Klash XXXII at Kalamazoo Speedway.
For the third straight year, the event will feature three divisions for a huge night of racing at the World’s Fastest 3/8ths mile. Along with the Kalamazoo Klash for the Outlaw Super Late Models, the Late Model Hustle and Raber’s Rumble both return for the weekly Late Model and Street Stock divisions.
Perhaps the favorite going into the Klash is four-time race winner Tyler Roahrig. The Plymouth, IN driver has won both Outlaw SLM races at Kalamazoo this season at the Intimidator 100 and Marty Jones 75, and is coming off a win with Reveal The Hammer at Berlin Raceway last weekend. He has a shot at history on Saturday – a fifth win would tie Terry Senneker for most all-time.
Brian Bergakker will be back to defend his Klash crown from a year ago, along with former Klash winner Andy and Phil Bozell, and Steve Needles. Former track champions Adam Terry and Mark Shook are looking for their first Klash wins, while Blake Childers will make his Kalamazoo Klash debut.
Meanwhile, a stacked field of template-bodied Late Models will be on hand with a mix of weekly racers and outsiders looking to take home $5,000. Defending race winner Andy Bozell will pull double-duty and look to go back-to-back against a field that will include former track champions Luke Krick, Billy Shannon, Kenny Head, Buddy Head, current points leader Jerry Pierman and 2024 feature winners Jared Blanchard and Isaac Ross.
A huge field of nearly 50 Street Stocks will converge for the Raber’s Rumble and another $5,000 up for grabs. Past Raber’s Rumble winners Mike “Bubba” Brooks, Colin Bozell and Ricky LaDuke will take on the likes of Bristol Motor Speedway winner Austin Maynard, two-time Klash winner Phil Bozell, current points leader Kyle VanSparrentak and a host of others.
Multiple drivers are planning on pulling double-duty on Saturday, including the likes of Andy Bozell (Outlaw/LM), Phil Bozell (Outlaw/SS), Austin Maynard (Outlaw/SS), Buddy Head (Outlaw/LM), Brandyn Ross (Outlaw/SS) and Eric McGothlen (LM/SS).
Racing is slated to begin at 7:00 Saturday night from Kalamazoo Speedway. More information can be found on their website at kalamazoospeedway.com or on their Facebook page.
