Kalamazoo, MI - A morning full of rumors regarding staff at Kalamazoo Speedway got some clarity Tuesday afternoon thanks to a social media post. By late morning, it was rumored that longtime face of Kalamazoo Speedway, Gary Howe, had stepped down from his involvement with the west Michigan track.

Howe's role at the Speedway has evolved over the years since relinquishing ownership to Niles', Michigan's, Randy Ritchey. Howe was retained as General Manager and advisor over the Speedway since the sale in 2020. This spring, well-respected Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway General Manager, Donnie Ritter, resigned from Springport and was later hired at Kalamazoo.

According to information provided under the condition of anonymity, Howe and Ritchey became disagreeable with each other,r which resulted in the quick resignation of Howe. With his resignation, longtime announcer, Jason "Mouth" Seltser also tenured his resignation on Tuesday and followed it up with a post on Facebook.

Sometimes supporting a friend that's been almost a dad, a boss, and a mentor, means sacrificing something you love. For 24 years, this package deal was my deal.
Kalamazoo.... it's been an absolute pleasure to "bounce around in your head" all these years. I truly appreciate and value the friendships I have made throughout this journey. I'll still see ya around here and there. It's truly been an honor.
When nothing goes right, turn left.
Mic drop.

Tuesday afternoon, an official from Kalamazoo Speedway informed Horsepower Happenings that Howe had indeed tendered his resignation as of Monday night; however, would not provide a statement on the situation.

This is a developing story.
