TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (April 6, 2024) Bettering his finish from Friday by two, Ohio’s Max Stambaugh rolled into Victory Lane Saturday night with the ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints at North Alabama Speedway.
Max’s first career victory with the ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints, the first half of the feature was spent chasing Mississippi’s Dale Howard. Working into traffic just past the mid-point of the feature, Stambaugh kept pace with Howard before moving top shelf through turns three and four for the pass on Lap 16.
Clear of slower traffic, Stambaugh wheeled the Smith Motorsports No. 71h to a 2.526-second margin of victory.
A family affair for the runner-up spot, Jan Howard would take over the position on Lap 18. Dale Howard would end up third, with Brad Bowden fourth. Picking up seven positions, Lane Whittington made it to fifth.
Running second before spinning on Lap 6, Oklahoma’s Hank Davis rallied from the tail to grab sixth. Brandon Blendon, Zach Pringle, Chase Howard, and Josh McCord completed the top ten.
The ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints return to action on Saturday, April 13 at Baton Rouge Raceway.
