A full weekend of racing in Michigan for the final weekend of April helps shake up the Michigan Dirt Late Model Power Rankings. Both I-96 Speedway and Crystal Motor Speedway were in action, with newcomers and regular faces mixing around in the power rankings early in the season.
On Friday night, a partial field of Late Models unloaded at I-96 Speedway with 14 cars on property. Meaning the top five were awarded points 5-1 and one point was awarded for 6-10. Mike Vandermark, Jr mastered I-96 Speedway on opening night with a convincing Friday night win over Travis Stemler and Brandon Thirlby. On Saturday, Stemler found victory lane for the first time in Michigan and second time this season overall. A full field of 20 cars rolled to the green flag Saturday night on a fairly locked down race track. Stemler started fourth and took the lead holding off Garett Wiles and Vandermark, Jr for the win.
