Michigan Dirt Late Model Power Rankings, May 22, 2024

For the first time this season, every dirt track in operation across Michigan was open for business. However, not every track hosted Super Late Models - in fact, Thunderbird Raceway gave the Supers a rest while Crystal Motor Speedway welcomed them for the big Ron Flinn 52. This caused some movement within the top 10, but the top five spots could change at a moments notice.

Friday night was a weird one across the state with only one track reaching a "full-field" by our Power Rankings terms (15 cars or more). Tri-City Motor Speedway pulled 16 cars for their season opener and saw Rylee Knoll get his first career Super Late Model win. 10 drivers hoped to find a win at I-96 Speedway after an electrical fire took out the lights on the front stretch. Chad Finley backed up his performance from a week ago with another win. Mid-Michigan Raceway Park welcomed 11 Super Late Models for their second week of racing. Dona Marcoulier, behind the wheel of Rick Gokee's No.31, took the win.

Saturday, Crystal Motor Speedway led the way with entries at 30. Ryan Lanphierd got the best of Garrett Wiles for the Ron Flinn 52 win. Merritt Speedway took in 19 Super Late Models on Saturday and familiar face, Eric Spanlger parked his No.27 in Victory Lane.

This weekend, plenty of racing to go around for Memorial Day Weekend including the start of the Allstar Performance Late Model Challenge Series between Tri City Motor Speedway and Merritt Speedway. Mid-Michigan Raceway Park will host Zip Code night offering FREE ADMISSION to any fan with a Lyons or Muir address. I-96 Speedway will take the week off to correct the electrical issues that appeared on Friday night. Crystal Motor Speedway is back in action with a regular show plus Great Lakes Lightning Sprints, Thunderbird Raceway returns to action with a full show minus Pro Late Models, while Meritt Speedway will host a double-header with racing on Saturday and Sunday.
