A massive week of racing with the Independence Day holiday has forced some changes in the Michigan Dirt Super Late Model Power Rankings. Crystal Motor Speedway held a special on Wednesday, plus the Merritt Speedway Wednesday and Thursday specials alongside the regularly scheduled races on Friday at Mid Michigan Raceway Park which also featured a make up show.
Brandon Thirlby collected his first win of the season on Wednesday at Merritt Speedway. Thirlby has been wildly consistent throughout the season only finishing outside the top 10 one time. On Thursday, Chad Finley collected his fifth Dirt Late Model feature win of the season. Much like Thirlby, Finley came from the outside of the front row to collect his win. Friday's racing at Merritt was washed away with heavy rain.
Wednesday at Crystal Motor Speedway Ryan Vanderveen took the win after 30 laps starting from the pole. On Saturday, Derrick Hilliker came from the outside of the second row to collect his first win of the 2024 season.
On Friday, Mid Michigan Raceway Park returned to action with a pair of features scheduled to roll off because of rain the week prior. A field of over 15 cars unloaded for the regular show for the first time this season. Garrett Wiles took home the rain delayed feature event against a field of eight other drivers. Then, the normal Friday night field of 17 cars took the green flag where John Clark grabbed his first win of the 2024 season.
