Prior to the final race of the 2024 season at Winchester Speedway on Saturday, October 12th as part of the 53rd Winchester 400 Weekend, officials with the Midwest Modifieds Tour Powered by Wheeler Trucking released the 2025 schedule of events. The Series released a five-date schedule that features some of the region's premier tracks and boasts a $5,000 to win $800 to start purse.
Brian Nester and Bud Gray hosted their first event under the Midwest Modifieds Tour banner during Winchester 400 Weekend in the fall of 2020. In 2021, the pair put together an 8 race schedule that featured Ona Speedway in West Virginia, Kalamazoo Speedway (MI), Corrigan Oil Speedway (MI), Birch Run Speedway (MI), and Winchester Speedway (IN); then in 2022 an 11 race schedule with a non-points race and schedule additions like Berlin Raceway (MI), Toledo Speedway (OH), Plymouth Speedway (IN), M-40 Speedway (MI), and Jennerstown Speedway (PA). Another 11-race schedule was released in 2023 adding Flat Rock Speedway (MI) and Owosso Speedway (MI) to the schedule and a 12-race calendar was followed in 2024 starting with the Short Track US Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway, and new events at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park and Salem Speedway.
The Midwest Modifieds Tour also sanctioned the prestigious Hot Shoe 100 for the last two seasons, which was held at Owosso Speedway in 2023 and 2024. The 2025 season, however, doesn't list the Hot Shoe 100 and slims the schedule down to just five races at five different race tracks. The season begins on Saturday, May 17th at Berlin Raceway before returning to action on Saturday, June 7th at Toledo Speedway. The middle event of the season is Saturday, July 26th at Owosso Speedway before making a debut at Whittemore Speedway on Saturday, August 23rd. The 2025 campaign is set for the traditional finale during the Run for the Gun 50 at Winchester Speedway on Saturday, October 11th.
Nester said the reduction in schedule is the Tour's way of keeping the race teams in mind first and maximizing the marketing partner dollars.
"With racing [getting] so expensive and the cost of traveling up, the cut back to five races allows us to put all the sponsor money into those purses," explained Nester. "We hope that will pull 30 plus modifieds at every show."
2025 Purse: 1st-$5,000, 2nd-$2,500, 3rd-$2,000, 4th-$1,500, 5th-$1,300, 6th-$1,100, 7th-$1,000, 8th-$975, 9th-$950, 10th-$925, 11th-$900, 12th-$890, 13th-$880, 14th-$870, 15th-$860, 16th-$850, 17th-$840, 18th-$830, 19th-$820, 20th-24th-$800
