Owosso Speedway Names Joe Biddinger as Motorsports Director

After a thorough search Owosso Speedway officials are happy to announce Joe Biddinger has been brought on board as the Motorsports Director for the Speedway.

Biddinger, who by day works heading up Electric Meter Operations for Consumers Energy out of Jackson, Michigan where he has worked for 25 years, brings a wealth of motorsports experience to the table from a variety of perspectives.

With over 40 years experience in the motorsports world, Biddinger has seen time wearing several different hats, as a mechanic, driver, and car owner. On the other side of the pit wall he has also seen tenures as a wrecker driver, spotter, and tech inspector. He also has spent time with 3GT Racing (then Rocketsports) that competed in Champ Car, IMSA, and SCCA Trans Am competition, as well as working for the ARCA Menard’s Series.

“I would like to thank Rex Wheeler for the opportunity to be the Motorsports Director at Owosso Speedway. I am excited to work with the entire Owosso Speedway staff, race teams and the fans in the 2024 season,” Biddinger said speaking of the opportunity in 2024.

Biddinger will oversee Race Control including making the calls in relation to on track incidents, overseeing timing and scoring, and coordinating with pit staff to ensure a timely flow of cars onto the track. Shortly the format and revised points scheme will be released to showcase some of the ideas brought to the table.

Outside of racing Biddinger is an avid golfer, fisherman, and snowmobiler with his son Brandon. And loves to travel with his wife Dawn.
