Owosso Speedway Releases 2025 Schedule; 500 Sprint Tour Makes Debut



Owosso, MI - On Saturday, November 9th, Owosso Speedway honored its 2024 division champions during an Awards Banquet at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. In addition to honoring the following champions: Modifieds - Aaron Taylor; Late Model Sportsman - Buddy Head; Street Stocks - Jeff Owens; Pure Stock - Jason Spencer; American Trucks - Gregory Long III; Sport Compacts - Damian Watters; Outlaw Super Late Model 500 Series - Steve Needles, the Speedway also released the 2025 schedule of events.


The 86th season of racing at Owosso Speedway begins on Saturday, April 26th with Modifieds, Late Model Sportsman, Pure Stocks, and Sport Compacts.


The month of May begins on Saturday, May 3rd with the first Destruction Overload which features a $ 500-to-win Spectator Drag. On Mother's Day weekend, Saturday, May 10th a regular night of racing returns with Modifieds, Late Model Sportsman, American Trucks, and Sport Compacts. The first Outlaw Super Late Model event of the year is Saturday, May 17th for the Humane Society 100. Late Model Sportsman, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Mini Wedges are also on the schedule. On Saturday, May 24th the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance returns for the 8th Running of The Big O Classic 100. MCR Dwarfs, Street Stocks, and American Trucks will be in action. Memorial Day weekend features the United Way Food Pantry Night with Modifieds, Pure Stocks, Trucks, and Sport Compacts.


In June, fans get their first Owosso Speedway Autograph Night of the year on Saturday, June 7th with Late Model Sportsman, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and American Trucks. Most of those division return the following weekend for a Father's Day Celebration, trading in Pure Stocks for Sport Compacts and Mini Wedges on June 14th. On Wednesday, June 18th the 3rd Annual Bob Finley Memorial brings back the Outlaw Super Late Models and Modifieds. The Must See Racing Sprint Cars bring their National Tour and the Midwest Lights on Saturday, June 21st for Super Hero Night - MCR Dwarfs and Late Model Sportsman will also be on the card. June closes out on Saturday, the 28th with a Sportsman Showdown putting the Owosso regulars against the Vore's Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman. Pure Stocks, American Trucks, and Sport Compacts are also scheduled.


July kicks off on Saturday, the 5th with Autograph Night #2 featuring Modifieds, Street Stocks, American Trucks, and Sport Compacts. Christmas in July is Saturday, July 12th with Modifieds, Late Model Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Pure Stocks. The event will feature a toy drive for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program; Santa Clause is also scheduled to make an appearance.


The second half of July features many premier events including on Wednesday, July 16th when the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour returns for the 13th Running of the Masters of the Pros 200, the richest and most prestigious Pro Late Model event in the Country. On Saturday, July 19th the Marie Smith Bike Night features a bike giveaway for kids and racing from the Late Model Sportsman, Street Stocks, American Trucks, Sport Compacts, and Mini Wedges. July wraps up with the Camp Owosso 100 POW/MIA Remembrance Night on Saturday, July 26th. The huge night of racing will feature the Owosso Outlaw Super Late Models, MCR Dwarfs, and Midwest Modifieds Tour (non-points for Owosso Modifieds).


The non-wing 500 Sprint Car Tour makes its Owosso Speedway debut on Saturday, August 2nd during Back to School Backpack Drive night. Pure Stocks and Sport Compacts will support the Tour born from the popular Little 500 at Anderson Speedway. The first doubleheader weekend of the year is Friday and Saturday, August 8th & 9th for the 11th Hot Shoe 100 for open-wheel Modifieds. Friday will feature the "New Shoe Showdown" with Mini Wedges before the 100-lap main event on Saturday alongside Late Model Sportsman and Pure Stocks.


The ASA STARS National Tour returns on Wednesday, August 20th for the Michigan 300; Street Stocks will offer support. Then, the 14th Annual Ron Hauser Memorial brings back the Outlaw Super Late Models on Saturday, August 23rd with American Trucks, Sport Compacts, and Mini Wedges. Another doubleheader closes out August on Saturday and Sunday, August 30th & 31st with the second stop of the season from the Must See Racing Sprint Cars and Must See Midwest Lights. Each night will be a full show of racing with MCR Dwarfs and Modifieds on Saturday and American Trucks and Street Stocks on Sunday.


The final month of racing in September begins with the World Series of Compacts on Saturday, September 6th sanctioned by the National Compact Touring Series. Modifieds and Pure Stocks will also be in action. The regular season comes to a close on Saturday, September 13th bringing all divisions to Owosso for one night to crown Season Champions. Then, three days of racing Friday, September 19th through Sunday, September 21st for the Owosso Nationals. Friday features local racing from the Late Model Sportsman, Sport Compacts, and Mini Wedges, with Friday bringing in the Outlaw Super Late Models, Modifieds, American Trucks, and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour New Stars Showdown. Sunday concludes with an afternoon of racing from the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, Street Stocks, and Pure Stocks. The final scheduled event of the season is the second Destruction Overload on Saturday, September 27th.
