Rankin Goes Wire-to-Wire in Butler Motor Speedway Opener

Quincy, MI - In the first event of the 2023 season at Butler Motor Speedway, the weekly division of 410 Winged Sprint cars put on a fantastic show for a packed grandstands on Saturday. Angola, Indiana's Tylar Rankin set fast time, won his heat race, and went on to lead every lap of the feature en route to his win.

A dramatic DIRTcar UMP Modified feature was also contested, with Dillon Nusbaum leading the opening half of the race before Mark Anderson made a move to the inside in turn one, making contact with Nusbaum spinning him out of turn two. On the following restart, after Nusbaum showed Anderson his displeasure and was disqualified, Anderson spun on his own exiting turn two, hitting Jeff Erickson, and collecting Todd Sherman and Rick Swartout in the process. Under caution, Sherman pulled in front of Anderson to show his anger about the situation, resulting in both drivers exiting the track.
