Track to Sill Host Super Late Models this Weekend
Special from Champion Racing Association - Salem, IN (January 18, 2021) – Showtime Speedway officials and Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials, announced today that CRA SpeedFest 2021, most recently rescheduled at the Florida facility for this weekend, will not be held. The traditional Super and Pro late model double header had been forced to find a last second new home when local COVID issues forced Watermelon Capital Speedway to cancel their event.
Showtime Speedway wanted to make the attempt to host the rescheduling effort, but issues outside the control of all the officials forced the cancellation. A major contributing factor was the low car count in Pro Late Models for a one day show in the region.
Series co-owner R. J. Scott noted, “We appreciate Robert’s willingness to try and host the rescheduled event, but in the end, it just wasn’t meant to be for SpeedFest 2021. Everyone involved wants nothing less than a great show, and it was looking like the last second reschedule was not going to allow that to happen.”
Showtime Speedway will continue to have racing this weekend with their local Super Late Models. Track officials shared that it will still feature a $10,000 to Win purse. Details for the event will be announced by the track later today.
