Reveal the Hammer Outlaw Late Models Look to 2024 for Another Record Year

The Reveal The Hammer Outlaw Super Late Model Series enjoyed their biggest season yet in 2023, with 66 drivers attempting at least one race and 15 drivers taking part in at least five of the seven races.  2024 looks to be even bigger, with eight races in Michigan and Indiana on the schedule for the series’ fourth year of existence.

With Steve Needles not contesting the full schedule in 2023, Reveal The Hammer was guaranteed a new series champion for the first time since its inception in 2021.  The championship battle came down to the wire, with former Kalamazoo Speedway track champion Mark Shook beating out Phil and Andy Bozell by a combined eight points to win the title.  Blake Childers (Owosso x2) led the series with two wins, while Shook (Birch Run), both Bozell’s (Owosso, Birch Run), Harold Fair Jr (Owosso) and Chad Finley (Birch Run) also picked up wins.

The Owosso Quad Crown returns as the Owosso 500 Series, which will now be a five-race “championship within a championship” series.  All five races will pay at least $10,000 to win, with the Bob Finley Memorial paying an astounding $20,067 to win in June.  While he came up just short of the Reveal The Hammer title, Phil Bozell did pick up the Owosso Quad Crown title in 2023.

The 2024 season kicks off on Saturday, May 18 at Owosso Speedway with a $10,000 payday up for grabs.  This will also mark the beginning of the Owosso 500 series.

Friday, June 7 will see Reveal The Hammer make their first-ever appearance at Kalamazoo Speedway for the Marty Jones Memorial.  Home to Outlaw Super Late Model racing’s biggest race, the Kalamazoo Klash, the series will make their first trip to the 3/8ths mile with $7,500 on the line.

Staying true to Midwest tradition, the biggest race on the schedule will be run on a Wednesday night.  The Bob Finley Memorial at Owosso will pay $20,067 to win on Wednesday, July 19.  Last year’s race pulled nearly 50 cars to Owosso, with Blake Childers taking home the biggest payday in Outlaw Super Late Model racing.

The series then returns to Berlin Raceway after a year absence on Saturday, July 6 to race for $10,000 to win.  Two weeks later, Reveal The Hammer will be back at Owosso on July 20.

Recently announced, Reveal The Hammer will return to the track where it all started, New Paris Speedway on Friday, August 2 for the Summer Sizzler.  For just the second time in the race’s 23 year history, the Sizzler will be a sanctioned event.

The final two races of the season will be back at Owosso Speedway.  They first go to Owosso on August 24 for the Ron Hauser Memorial, before returning during the Owosso Nationals weekend on Saturday, September 21 to crown a series champion.  A $15,000 payday will be up for grabs to win the race.
