SpeedFest 2022 Presented by Racing America Will Take Place This Weekend


Salem, IN (January 26, 2021) – Despite the current weather forecast of cooler temperatures in Georgia this weekend, Track Enterprises officials have announced that SpeedFest 2022 Presented by Racing America is on as scheduled this Friday and Saturday at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia. Five great divisions will be on hand to provide some hot racing action on the track, so dress warm and come on out to Watermelon Capital Speedway to enjoy the great racing action!


SpeedFest 2022 Presented by Racing America will consist of a $12,000 to win co-sanctioned ARCA/CRA Super Series and Southern Super Series 150 lap Super Late Model non-points event, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance in a special non-points 100 lap Pro Late Model event, the Midwest Modifieds and Modifieds of Mayhem Tour will have a special 50 lap non-points Challenge event, the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks will have a special 75 lap non-points event and Legend Cars will also be featured in a 25 lap feature.


There is a talented field of Super Late Model drivers pre-entered topped by NASCAR Competitor Josh Berry, who will race full time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for JR Motorsports in 2022. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitors Chandler Smith and Carson Hocevar are also entered. Other top Super Late Model drivers entered include defending event winner Corey Heim, Bubba Pollard, Stephen Nasse, Jake Garcia, Jesse Dutilly, Daniel Dye, 2016 ARCA CRA Super Series Champion Cody Coughlin, Steve Dorer and Kyle Plott.


There is a great 25 car field of Pro Late Models pre-entered for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event including defending event winner Stephen Nasse, 2021 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Watermelon Capital Speedway Spring Nationals winner Christopher Tullis, Four-time JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champion Cody Coughlin, Derek Griffith, Cole Williams Dylan Fetcho, Michael Hinde and Hunter Wright.


There are 21 drivers from 10 states pre-entered for the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks SpeedFest event. This will be the first time the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks have been a part of the SpeedFest event. States represented include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia as drivers compete to be the first ever Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks SpeedFest winner!


There will be an optional open test for all SpeedFest 2022 divisions on Thursday, January 27th, pits will open at 9am with rotating practice sessions going from 12noon until 5pm. Cost for the test is $100 per car, that will include up to six pit passes for Thursday.


Friday, January 28 will feature practice and pole day for all five classes with on track activity beginning at 11:30 AM. Saturday, January 29 will be feature day with all five of the main events. Saturday will begin with an autograph session at 11:30 AM with racing starting at 1:00 PM.


Advance sale discount tickets are available for $25 and includes Friday’s practice/pole day as well as feature day Saturday. Tickets will be $5 more at the track on race day.
