One of the most anticipated racing series of 2021 has released its full schedule. Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) officially released the six-race schedule which will take them to some of the nation’s most historic, unique, and challenging short tracks. With high profile facilities, high profile drivers, and high profile partners, SRX says they will reignite the passion of the die-hard motorsports fan and reintroduce racing to a whole new generation.
The Saturday night Series sets out on its maiden voyage on June 12th at Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. Then, SRX is back in action on June 19th at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, OH) on June 26th, Lucas Oil Raceway Indianapolis on July 3rd, July 10th from Slinger Speedway (Slinger, WI), and the season finale wraps up on July 17th at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway (Nashville, TN).
The SRX Racing Series will feature drivers from a variety of racing backgrounds with a total emphasis on head-to-head competition in short, sprint races. Races will have no pit stops but break where drivers and crew chiefs can make adjustments and strategy decisions. SRX has secured driver commitments from some of the sport’s biggest names, including, Tony Stewart, Bill Elliott, Tony Kannan, Paul Tracy, Bobby Labonte, Willy T. Ribbs, Mark Webber, Ernie Francis, Jr., and Helio Castroneves.
The Series not only has driving commitments from some of the industries leading competitors, but also has great masterminds at the helm. Created by Sandy Montag and The Montag Group, NASCAR Hall of Fame Crew Chief and Owner, Ray Evernham, and legendary driver Tony Stewart and George Pyne. The Montag Group leads business operations and Evernham oversees all racing operations. Brian Corcoran and Shamrock Sports & Entertainment lead all sponsorship-related initiatives.
In a brief summary on the SRX Racing Series website, fans are enticed with memories of
the way racing ‘used to be’. The statement reads in part, “Featuring an unprecedented line-up of all-star drivers and crews, this supercharged spectacle is hellbent on recapturing the glory days of racing and getting things back on track. Big engines, bigger personalities, and big-time drama and intensity irresistible. This will be the most exhilarating racing on the planet.”
SRX Series dates are already expected to line-up with established high profile events across the country. The Series’ opener on June 12th creates a double-header weekend for Stafford Motor Speedway. On Friday night, they’ll host the 4th Annual Twisted Tea Open Modified 80 before Saturday’s SRX race. Knoxville Raceway will see a similar lineup the following weekend, when the Knoxville Championship Series 360s and Pace Performance Pro Sprints race on Friday night, with SRX and 410 Sprints on Saturday.
Eldora Speedway will make their event a blockbuster as well, with SRX headlining the Saturday night affair, while the USAC Silver Crown cars accompany them. On July 3rd, Lucas Oil Raceway has dubbed their event the Independence Showdown featuring Pavement Midgets alongside SRX. Slinger Speedway has yet to announce additional details for their July 10th date.
Finally, the inaugural SRX season comes to a close during the July 17th program at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. This date was already circled on many race fan’s calendars thanks to one of the country’s largest Pro Late Model races. Champion Racing Association’s 9th Running of the CRA Masters of the Pros 150 will feature a $10,000 to win Pro Late Model race. The event saw over 40 entries for the 2020 edition.
