Summer Sizzler To Be Sanctioned By Reveal The Hammer Outlaws Super Late Models

The 23rd Annual Summer Sizzler at New Paris Speedway on Friday, August 2 will now be a Reveal The Hammer points race, as announced on Saturday morning.

The inaugural Reveal The Hammer race was held at New Paris Speedway on May 8, 2021, a race won by Steve Needles.  The series now returns to the Indiana ¼-mile three years later, this time for one of the Outlaw Super Late Model crown jewels.

The Summer Sizzler is one of the longest-running and highest-paying Outlaw Super Late Model races on the calendar.  The race was first held in 2002, when Erv Starrett beat out Brian Ross and Andy Bozell for the win.  14 drivers have earned wins in the Sizzler over the years, led by Tyler Roahrig’s seven victories.  Defending Reveal The Hammer champion Mark Shook is also the defending Summer Sizzler winner, taking the win last year over Jaden Cretacci and 2019 winner Donny Klotz III.

With the addition of the Summer Sizzler, there are now 11 races on the 2024 Reveal The Hammer schedule, the most in its brief history.  The New Paris date is the only race scheduled outside the state of Michigan.  New Paris joins Owosso, Kalamazoo, and Berlin on the schedule.

More information on the 23rd Annual Summer Sizzler will be released as it gets closer to race day.
