When Aaron Taylor started racing Asphalt Modifieds he had three goals: Rookie of the Year with Midwest Modifieds Tour Powered by Wheeler Trucking, Owosso Speedway track championship, and win the Hot Shoe 100. In 2022, Taylor checked the box on the Midwest Modifieds Tour Rookie of the Year honors and now in 2024, Taylor took care of the other two goals with a season that might not be beat again.
Taylor's efforts also earned him the Michigan Asphalt Modifieds Power Rankings Presented by Howe Racing Enterprises Championship which kept an eye on results from all across Michigan including at Owosso Speedway, Birch Run Speedway, Corrigan Oil Speedway, Springport Mid-Michigan Speedway and Michigan hosted events with the Midwest Modifieds Tour.
In Michigan, Taylor finished with an impressive 19 Top 10s, 16 Top 5s, and nine feature wins including the prestigious Hot Shoe 100 at Owosso Speedway. Taylor's dominance this season was unmatched by any other drivers in the state. Trevor Berry was runner-up in the Michigan Asphalt Modifieds Power Rankings Presented by Howe Racing Enterprises with three wins and eight Top 5s. The only driver with more Top 10s this season was Jerame Jaroniewski who put together 12 top 10s this season.
The Jackson, Michigan native's Hot Shoe 100 win came as part of a nearly perfect day. Taylor qualified 2nd as one of the last cars to roll onto the speedway. He was out-qualified by Trevor Berry by just under two-one-hundredths of a second. Taylor came from the 7th spot to get the win over Kyle Hayden and Matt Dimit.
