Travis Eddy Goes Back-to-Back at World Series

New Smyrna Beach, FL (Sunday, February 7, 2021) - Mother nature forced her way into much of the Florida Speedweeks on Saturday night. Yet, some great racing was still found at different corners of the state. New Smyrna, East Bay, Bubba Raceway, and Hendry County were able to get at least a portion of their scheduled program in before the rains came again.

At New Smyrna Speedway during the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing, Midland, Michigan's, Travis Eddy went back-to-back in Pavement Modified competition. Starting on the outside of the front row, Eddy quickly fell into his second spot, and held there for the first half of the race. Staying patient, Eddy ran back down pole-sitter, Jerry Symons and began sizing up the competition. Eddy was able to look to the inside of Symons on a couple of occasions, but could never stick the pass. Then, into turn three, Eddy got a run to the inside. He and Symons made contact at the exit of the corner, but it would prove to be no issue as Eddy raced into the night for the win. In Late Model action, Derek Griffith and Jett Noland were victorious in night two.

Up in Ocala, Florida, the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midgets were set for a double-header day, first completing the Friday night feature before moving on to the regular show. They were 50% for the plan before rain moved back in. Buddy Kofoid picked up the win for the Friday night show.

Volusia Speedway Park was washed out Saturday night, they are back in action tonight with a special 3:00 pm start time due to the Super Bowl. Plus, the World Series races on tonight in New Smyrna.
