ST. MARYS, Ohio (05/27/25) – A trip north to the Great Lakes State paid dividends for Best Performance Motorsports and Tyler Erb, as their weekend excursion culminated in a flag-to-flag victory worth $7,500 on Sunday evening at Crystal Motor Speedway.

Erb closed out his Memorial Day weekend with authority, driving the Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors No. 1 Rocket Chassis Super Late Model—powered by a Clements Racing Engine—to his third victory of the season.“I really enjoy Crystal, this isn’t the same racetrack we had last (July) by any means, but just something about the shape of it and the way you gotta run it. I think I got every bit of qualifying I could get without hurting myself, that’s the key, it set us up to start up front and not have to race our way through so hard,” Erb continued. “Thank everybody for giving us a place to race, I don’t want to go to Missouri on Memorial Day weekend, so this is a close option.”

Erb’s rain-shortened weekend got underway Saturday evening at Butler Motor Speedway, where he competed in the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series opener. After a third-place finish in his heat race, Erb lined up on the fifth row for the $5,000-to-win feature and charged forward five positions to finish fourth. Two hours north at Crystal Motor Speedway on Sunday, Tyler topped the competitive 45-car field in time trials before picking up a heat race win. Securing an evening sweep with a flag-to-flag victory in the feature, Erb led all 35 laps to claim his third win of the season. The $7,500 triumph marked his second career victory with the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series.Complete results from the Memorial Day weekend can be found at www.IMDirt.net.Erb is set for a Midwest doubleheader this weekend with events in Indiana and Illinois. He’ll kick things off Friday at Bloomington Speedway with the Don Hobbs Classic, sanctioned by the Northern Allstars Late Model Dirt Series. On Saturday, Erb will chase a $25,000 top prize in the MARS Late Model Championship Series-sanctioned Illinois Valley Showdown at LaSalle Speedway.Full event details are available at www.NorthernAllStarsSeries.com and www.MARSRacingSeries.com
