ABEL Construction Company Continues Motorsport Tradition Partnering with Taylor Ferns for 2025 Season

Louisville, KY (April 4, 2025) – Louisville Kentucky based ABEL Construction Company, announces their sponsorship of open-wheel standout Taylor Ferns for her 2025 racing campaign in both the USAC Silver Crown series and the 500 Sprint Car Tour. Ferns will pilot the No. 55 beginning on April 17th at the Anderson Speedway.

“I’m excited to represent ABEL Construction Company this year racing my sprint car and USAC Silver Crown. I’m super grateful to the Abel family and to John Brunner for working to put this together,” exclaimed the Detroit native.

ABEL Motorsports Team Manager, John Brunner, recoginized right away after working with Ferns in 2024 that she represented what the ABEL brand is all about and wanted to find a way to keep her in the ABEL family.

“It was great getting to work with Taylor last season, and to see her success in the Silver Crown car all while learning the INDY NXT series was impressive,” exclaimed Brunner.

“The ABEL brand is all about hard work and doing the right thing, and those are two qualities we believe Taylor exudes so the opportunity to join her in her Silver Crown and Sprint Car seasons was a no brainer,”.

For ABEL Construction Company and ABEL Motorsports CEO, Bill Abel, the opportunity to partner with a racer in a different discipline and continue the long tradition of the Abel family in motorsports was one that the Louisville native jumped on.

“We got to meet Taylor and work with her a lot last year, and I was really impressed with how she approached racing. She understands it from all angles whether its driving, the business side, sponsorships, etc. she’s a really well-rounded racer and one that fits in the ABEL family very well,” said Bill Abel.

“The ABEL brand has a long history in motorsports, from dirt bikes all the way to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, so adding another talented driver to our roster is something we are really pleased with. We can’t wait to see what Taylor is able to accomplish this season, and getting to cheer her along all year,” stated Bill Abel.

As Ferns reflects on the year spent with the ABEL family and the opportunity ahead to represent them on a different platform is one that brings excitement to the 29-year-old.

“The entire ABEL team has been awesome to work with over the past year, and it will be great to represent them in a different capacity and in grassroots racing. Additionally, the Bradford Allen group has played a key role in facilitating this partnership and none of this would be possible without them. Bradford Allen and ABEL Construction Company’s support means the world and I look forward to what we’ll be able to accomplish together,” said Taylor Ferns.

Ferns kicks off this new partnership on Thursday April 17th at the Anderson Speedway competing with the 500 Sprint Car Tour in a 100-lap feature event.

About Taylor Ferns: Taylor Ferns is an accomplished racecar driver, law school graduate, team owner, and recognized business professional. Throughout her 23-year racing tenure, she has won numerous races, championships, awards, and set records that do not only pertain to her gender, in a diverse portfolio of racecars, and on varying race surfaces. As a United States Auto Club (USAC) champion, Taylor has carved a name for herself within the open-wheel ranks including, but not limited to, being the youngest female driver to win a sprint car race at 14 years old, becoming the first female to win USAC midget and sprint car races at a multitude of racetracks, being the second female to ever win a USAC championship, having the most USAC Silver Crown starts by a female, and being the first female to podium in USAC’s 51-year Silver Crown history.

Aside from some of her motorsport’s accomplishments, Taylor has gone on to pursue academia by attaining a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Economics from Grand Valley State University where she graduated cum laude, a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, and recently graduated from Wayne State University Law School. For five years, Taylor worked at The Sam Bernstein Law Firm in an Operations Director role where she dedicated her time to elevating her position by applying a lot of what was instilled in her at a young age: grit, persistence, and vivaciousness.

Over the years, Taylor’s perspective of the motorsport’s world, and her placement in it, has evolved. She now recognizes the power and greater meaning behind being a female in a maledominated trade. With that, she has made it a personal mission to give back to a sport she is so passionate about by mentoring younger girls interested in racing. Taylor is also an active member of Women in Motorsports North America, regularly takes part in professional speaking engagements regarding women in racing, is a contributing writer to SPEED SPORT / Sprint & Midget Magazine, co-hosts a podcast, acts as an ambassador for a number of companies including Skip Barber Racing School, Hoosier Tire, and Car IQ Pay, and founded The Safety Bank which is an organization set-up to help provide adequate safety gear to the masses through donations from those with greater access to product(s).
