Quincy, MI - One week after going toe-to-toe with the best drivers in the country during the Mace Thomas Classic, 2018 Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee, Jason Blonde, found Butler Motor Speedway Victory Lane Saturday night for the first time this season.

The Rhino Racing No.10BR unloaded with speed on Saturday, June 7th for the first regular show at Butler since the Mace Thomas Classic with the High Limit Racing Sprint Cars on May 31st. Blonde was 7th fastest overall in qualifying and finished second during his heat race which put him starting third in the feature.

With former Great Lakes Super Sprints Champion, Ryan Ruhl, and former Butler Motor Speedway track champion, Josh Turner, leading the field to green, Blonde had stout competition to deal with during the 25 lap feature. In the end, Blonde and Ruhl put on a show with Blonde getting the nod by just seven-tenths of a second at the finish.

The win was a special one, not just as the first of the season, but the timing of the victory was significant as well. Just days before the first anniversary of the passing of Logan Foust, a sprint car racing enthusiast who died as a result of a traffic crash in 2024, the family had donated $100 bonus to the winner of the Sprint Car Feature Saturday night. The bonus came as a surprise to Rhino Racing, a team with which Foust had helped on many occasions.

Rhino Racing owner Phil Reneau announced in a post on social media that he was matching the $100 bonus and making a donation to a local cause. He also said that the note attached to the bonus was posted in a very special location for the team.

The next event for Rhino Racing is this Friday and Saturday night. Blonde competes with the Tri State Sprint Series Friday at Kalamazoo Speedway in the Dowker Engines No.42 before he’ll field a pair of Rhino Racing cars Saturday at Butler Motor Speedway. The 2025 Butler Motor Speedway Championship Points leader will again pilot the Spirit of America No.10BR in the 410 division, while also racing the Tribute to First Responders No.10 with the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints.

Rhino Racing would like to thank Cole Ford, Coldwater Lake Marina, Mancino’s of Coldwater, Mid Michigan Trailers, Sims Lawn & Landscape, Hamilton Trucking, Lake Drive Marine, S&K Auto Detail, and Canopy’s R Us.
