Great Lakes Super Sprints Reschedule Postponed Crystal Motor Speedway Event to May 4th

Merrill, MI - Officials with the Michigan CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by Engine Pro and ARP and Crystal Motor Speedway have announced that the originally postponed event from Saturday, April 20th has been scheduled for Saturday, May 4th. The date featured a standard night of racing at Crystal Motor Speedway but now brings increased hype for fans of dirt track racing.

the Big Show Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway features Laet Models, IMCA Modifieds, Pro Stocks & Trucks, Street Stocks, Sport Compacts, and Mini Wedges now alongside the opener for the Michigan CAR Sprint Car Division. The Speedway is leaning into the date of the race as well, saying "May the 4th be with you", a nod to the cult-classic Star Wars franchise. Crystal Motor Speedway is asking fans to wear their favorite Star Wars apparel or stormtroopers gear to be entered into drawings for prizes. The first 200 kids through the gate will be given a lightsaber as well.

The Great Lakes Super Sprints have yet to contest an event in 2024, with three consecutive rainouts. The first came on April 13th when Waynesfield Raceway Park was forced to pull the plug with the sun shining due to saturated grounds and cold temps. The same fate and misfortune unfolded on Friday, April 19th with I-96 Speedway and then again with the original Crystal Motor Speedway date on April 20th. The regional Tour now prepares to head south to I-75 Speedway in Tennessee for a co-sanctioned event with the USCS Sprints.
