Litchfield, MI - The Rhino Racing team kicked off the 2025 season on Friday night at I-96 Speedway with the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP. The first race of the season presented a couple of obstacles to overcome, which the team successfully did en route to a 15th-place finish. With nearly 30 cars on the property, the team had to be ready to perform from the start of the night.
A fuel delivery issue presented itself early throughout the evening, resulting in a subpar qualifying effort, 16th out of 26 cars scheduled to take time. In Heat Race No.1, driver Jason Blonde was able to race his way into the show, coming from sixth to the final transfer spot of fifth. In the feature, the No.10BR First Responders Tribute car started 13th and fell back to 15th on a top-dominant race track. Blonde also successfully avoided two cars that spun in the middle of the field while not drawing a yellow flag.
On Saturday, in an effort to ensure that all the mechanical “gremlins” were out of the system, the Rhino Racing team headed to Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, MI for their preseason Test & Tune. A solid afternoon of testing boosted the confidence of the Rhino Racing stable heading into the season opener for Butler on Saturday, May 3rd.
