Whittemore, MI (Wednesday, January 27, 2020) - Travel North of Omer, Michigan on M65 headed toward "God’s country" in Northern Michigan on a Saturday during the Spring, Summer, and Fall, and you will experience the sights and sounds of racing coming from the village of Whittemore. The quarter-mile asphalt track of Whittemore Speedway, Michigan’s oldest speedway, enters 2021 with a schedule that will feature an Enduro, Limited Late Models (LLM), Modifieds (MOD), Street Stocks (SS), Lead Sleds (LS), Trucks, Front Wheel Drives (FWD), and Legends (LEG).
Some of the highlights of the 2021 schedule are:
March 6th The Slush Slinger FWD/RWD Enduro. This event is $1,500 to win and already features a $250 bonus (Stern Electric) for the highest finishing female driver as well as a $250 bonus (Bessey Ox) to the youngest driver 12 years old and up to compete.
June 26th The Nikki Lafreniere/Abbott Northern Nationals. The event is a $5,000 to win affair for the Legends using the INEX rule book and race procedures.
July 7th The Goofy 50. Featuring a 50 lap feature for the LS class that will pay $1,500 to win. The Leader at halfway will roll a dice and restart either 1st through 6th depending on what they roll.
August 7th The 3rd Annual Gene Ott Memorial for the FWD. The race will be a $1,084 to win feature for the FWD as well as a cancer awareness event, raffle, and bike giveaway.
August 21st The Growler 100 and 60 lap MOD race features the high powered Outlaw Super Late Models battling for a $5,000 to win payday in memory of Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame member Tom Rosebrugh. Past winners of The Growler include:

The Modifieds will race for an increased purse and laps and the FWD will round out the show
September 17th and 18th The Whittemore Speedway Invitational featuring the 2nd Annual Jimmy 55 Memorial Race for LLM in memory of Jim Navarre. Every class featured at the speedway will be racing for increased purses and increased laps along with extra bonuses.
